This project was a collaboration with Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors on her personal residence. We started with a large, flat lot, dotted with mature trees and designed a landscape that creates depth and visual interest, while providing numerous opportunities to experience the garden. A rustic material palette of reclaimed timbers, cobblestone and gravel were used for the hardscape and provide a framework for the planting. Meadow grasses, lavenders, sages and wildflowers are anchored by more structured agaves, boxwood and Westringia shrubs- all against the backdrop of new olive trees planted throughout the garden.
