TASLIMI HOUSE

With:  Fleetwood/Fernandez Architects

Clients:  Private Residence

Status:  Complete

This LEED Platinum house designed by Fleetwood/Fernandez Architects features a drought tolerant California native shade garden, accented with California Sycamores.  The entry sequence passes through a garden comprised of native grasses and ground covers, past a custom steel gate and patterned screen, into a private courtyard garden with a serene water feature and meadow-like clearing.  The rear garden blurs the extents of the interior and exterior of the house; walls of glass open up to terraces and lush plantings.  The garage roof, planted with seasonal wildflowers and grasses, serves as a focal point from the master bedroom. In an effort to conserve water, the garden is irrigated from a greywater and rain water catchment system.
